Basic Outline of sidebet rules / how to play

Racing Card Derby™ (RCD) is a Casino style card game, which is dealt by a dealer and has multiple players betting on the outcome.

The object of the game is to select the color of the winning horse, the winning suit, or combination of 1st and 2nd, or 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Players place one to 42 bets in the marked betting areas on the table before the race begins and prior to any cards being revealed. The Dealer will then display each card and one of the four animated HORSES will advance in the race. The suit of the card will move the horse of the same suit one length.

- The first suit to display four cards will be the winner.

- Once the winner has finished the race, the next suit to be displayed (other than the Winner) will be 2nd place.

- Once the 2nd place horse has finished the race, the next suit to be displayed (other than the winner and 2nd place) will be 3rd.

All winning combinations will automatically light up White, Blue or Red to display the winners. When all winners are paid, the dealer will start the next game.

Black WINS if the 1st to finish is: CLUBS or SPADES 1-1 *

Exact Quinella WINS if the 1st & 2nd to finish are: SELECTED IN THE CORRECT ORDER 10-1
Exact Trifecta WINS if the 1st to finish is the same as: THE 1st SUIT IN THE TRIFECTA BET 1-1
Or WINS if the 1st & 2nd to finish are the same as: THE 1st & 2nd SUIT IN THE TRIFECTA BET 2-1
Or WINS if the 1st, 2nd & 3rd to finish are the same as: 1st, 2nd & 3rd SUIT IN THE TRIFECTA BET 10-1

*Protest Card

If the protest card (2 of Spades) is dealt prior to the 1st place horse being determined, the Red/Black payout will be reduced to 1-2 and the Winner payout will be reduced to 2-1. The protest card has no effect on the Exact Quinella or Exact Trifecta Bets.

The probabilities associated with determining a winner and the effect that the Protest Card (2 of Spades) has on the ERTP. We show that the ERTP (Spades Winning) = 92.308 cents in the dollar, while the ERTP (Hearts, Diamonds or Clubs Winning) = 96.738 cents in the dollar. This discrepancy is explained the by fact that the Protest card, which reduces the payout, is more likely to be dealt when the winning suit is Spades. Over all, the ERTP (Winner) = 95.630 cents in the dollar.

The situation for the Quinella (positions 1 and 2) and Trifecta (positions 1, 2 and 3) are unaffected by the Protest Cards and since all outcomes are equally likely in both categories, the ERTP (Quinella) = 91.66 cents in the dollar and also the ERTP (Trifecta) = 91.66 cents in the dollar.
