Basic Outline of how to play

Action Hold'em is based on Texas Hold'em poker. The object of the game is to make a higher ranking hand than the Dealer. Payouts depend on the size of the initial wager (the 'ante') and subsequent wagers, and the player's hand in relation to the dealer's hand.

HOW TO PLAY

To play, a bet is placed on the ante box (the 'Ante' bet). The bet amount is recorded by the dealer using a table mounted touch screen display.

The 7-2 and Any Pair side bets are additional optional bets that must be made before any cards are dealt. Side bets may be placed by any player who has placed an ante bet. Side bets may be placed against the dealer's hand, player's hand, or both hands.

All players and the dealer are dealt two cards face up.

The Any Pair Player side bet will win if any pair is dealt to that player, and the Any Pair Dealer side bet will win if the dealer is dealt any pair. The 7-2 Player side bet will win if that player is dealt 7-2 of any suit combination, and the 7-2 Dealer side bet will win if the dealer is dealt 7-2 of any suit combination.

The table mounted display shows the payout each player will receive, should he or she win the hand. Payouts are inversely proportional to the strength of the player's hand compared to the dealer's hand.

Players may either fold, forfeiting their Ante bet and ending further involvement in the hand, or continue by placing a Flop bet, which is fixed at twice the value of the original Ante bet.

Three community cards (the 'Flop') are dealt face up, and each remaining player is offered a second payout, should he or she elect to place a third and final optional bet (the 'Turn & River' bet). The second payout is inversely proportional to the strength of the player's hand compared to the dealer's hand, taking into account the Flop cards. The Turn & River bet is fixed at 3 times the value of the original Ante bet.

Players who elect not to place the Turn & River bet continue in the hand, playing only for the first payout offered before the Flop.

The final two community cards (the 'Turn & River' cards) are dealt face up.

Players make the best 5 card hand possible by combining their cards with the five community cards. Each player who has a better hand than the Dealer will receive either the first payout only (if he or she declined to place the Turn & River bet), or the sum of both the first and second payouts, if he or she did place the Turn & River bet.

Players who have worse hands than the dealer lose their wagers, and players whose hands tie with the dealer's hand receive their wagers back, with no additional payout.

Usual Odds Payable

7-2 Side bets are paid at 72-1. Any Pair side bets are paid at 12-1. Odds paid in the main game are variable, and are determined by the strength of the players hand compared to that of the dealer.
